Nigeria posted 152 for seven before bowling Malawi out for 58 in 18.3 overs, turning another qualification test into a commanding statement.
Shola Adekunle delivered the standout all-round performance as Nigeria followed up their opening four-wicket victory over Uganda with an even more emphatic result.
Against Uganda, the Junior Female YellowGreens had shown they could survive pressure in a low-scoring contest. Against Malawi, they showed they could dominate one.
The 94-run margin underlined both the improvement of Nigeria’s batting unit and the control of the bowling attack, giving the team two victories from their opening two matches.
That matters because the tournament carries only one direct African qualification place for the 2027 ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in Bangladesh and Nepal.
Eight teams; Nigeria, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe are competing in Dar es Salaam from August 30 to September 5 for that single ticket.
Nigeria’s perfect start therefore carries more than early-tournament momentum.
Every victory pushes the Junior Female YellowGreens deeper into a qualification race where one poor result can change the route to the World Cup.
The next pressure point comes against hosts Tanzania on September 2.
