Comfort Erhabor has another European door open in front of her. Swedish club AIK Fotboll have officially invited the Super Falcons goalkeeper to train with their women’s first team at Skytteholm, giving the 21-year-old an opportunity to make her case inside a top-flight Swedish environment.
AIK confirmed the invitation on August 27, saying Erhabor would join the women’s team in training. For Erhabor, the distinction matters: this is a training opportunity, not a confirmed transfer.
But it is still a meaningful one.
A place inside AIK’s environment gives her direct exposure to a club competing at the top level of Swedish women’s football and another platform from which to push her development after moving into Nigeria’s senior national-team setup. Erhabor has remained involved with the Super Falcons in 2026, including the June camp for international friendlies against Senegal.
For a young goalkeeper trying to establish herself at both club and national-team level, minutes, coaching environment and competitive visibility matter. Training with AIK offers Erhabor an immediate chance to show whether she can turn international promise into a stronger European club position. AIK have not announced a contract or completed transfer.
Erhabor now has access to the training ground and a chance to make the next decision difficult for the Swedish club.
That matters for Nigeria too.
Goalkeeper depth remains an important part of the Super Falcons’ longer-term picture. Every credible club environment that exposes emerging Nigerian keepers to higher-level competition increases the pressure for places around the national team. Erhabor’s next move will therefore be watched from two directions.
AIK will judge what she can offer them. Nigeria will be watching what the opportunity can make of her.
For now, there is no signing and no transfer announcement. There is simply an open door in Sweden.
And for Comfort Erhabor, the job now is to force it wider.
