Femi Azeez’s climb has reached the Premier League.
Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of the Nigeria international winger from Millwall on a four-year contract, giving the 25-year-old a new stage after a career that has taken him from non-league football to England’s top flight.
The transfer was completed after Brighton and Millwall submitted a deal sheet before the deadline, allowing extra time for the agreement to be finalised.
Brighton confirmed the move on Wednesday and said the financial terms are undisclosed.
A reported £15 million valuation had circulated around the deal, but Brighton’s announcement does not confirm that figure. What is certain is the move itself, the four-year contract and a significant jump in level for one of Nigeria’s emerging attacking options.
Brighton sporting director Mike Cave described Azeez as one of the Championship’s most exciting attacking talents after a season in which he played a major role in Millwall’s push into the play-offs.

The numbers give that assessment weight
Azeez leaves Millwall after 77 appearances, 15 goals and 13 assists for the London club.
His 2025/26 campaign also brought individual recognition, as he was selected in both the PFA and EFL Championship teams of the season.
But the wider story is bigger than one productive Championship campaign.
Azeez’s route to the Premier League has not been conventional.
After spending time in Watford’s youth system, he moved through Northwood, Wealdstone and Hanwell Town before joining Reading in 2019. His subsequent move to Millwall in 2024 pushed him further up the English ladder.
Now Brighton have taken the next bet.
For CranseSports, the Nigerian angle sharpens the move further
Azeez has already broken into the Super Eagles and made an immediate impact at senior international level. Brighton say he scored both goals in Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe on his debut in June before providing an assist in the 3-0 win over Jamaica four days later.
That international rise changes the pressure around his club move.
This is no longer simply a player earning a Premier League opportunity.
Azeez now enters a league where every strong performance can strengthen his case inside Nigeria’s attacking rotation, while every struggle will be measured against the expectations created by his Championship form and explosive international start.

Brighton’s own assessment suggests they see more than depth.
Cave said the club had been keen to secure Azeez and highlighted his attacking impact at Millwall.
The next test is whether that Championship threat travels upward.
Brighton’s immediate league schedule offers little time for a gentle introduction, with Leeds United visiting the Amex on September 5 before fixtures against Coventry City and Arsenal later in the month.
Whether Azeez is involved immediately will depend on selection and integration, but the larger move is already complete.
From non-league pitches to Reading, from Millwall to Nigeria, and now into the Premier League, Femi Azeez has climbed another level.
The transfer is done.
The pressure now shifts from getting there to proving he belongs.
