David Okereke has a new Italian challenge.
Benevento have officially signed the Nigerian forward on a contract running until 30 June 2028, with an automatic extension option through 30 June 2029.
The move gives the Lagos-born attacker another platform in Italian football as he looks to build fresh momentum at a club returning to Serie B.
Benevento’s official player profile lists Okereke as a forward wearing No. 29, confirming his place in the first-team squad.

For Okereke, the significance goes beyond another transfer announcement. A multi-year agreement gives him the chance to establish himself in a Benevento side already facing competitive pressure at the start of the season.
The newly promoted club opened its Coppa Italia campaign with a dramatic 5-3 victory over Ravenna on 9 August, recovering from an early deficit to book a round-of-32 meeting with Fiorentina.
That backdrop gives Okereke an immediate stage on which to fight for minutes, goals and influence.
For Nigerian followers, the transfer also adds another name to the growing Nigerians Abroad watch as the new European season gathers pace.
Benevento have made their commitment clear. The next question belongs to Okereke: how much can he make of his latest Italian opportunity?
