Nigeria’s Super Falcons now know where their road to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games begins.
The Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed that both legs of the Falcons’ second-round qualifier against Comoros will be played at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo, with the matches scheduled for October 9 and October 13, 2026.
That turns Ikenne into the first pressure point of Nigeria’s Olympic qualification campaign.
The Super Falcons entered the qualifying series in the second round after receiving a bye as one of Africa’s highest-ranked teams, while Comoros advanced from the opening round.
For Nigeria, however, getting past Comoros would only open the next door.
The Falcons must negotiate a multi-round knockout route to secure one of Africa’s two places at the women’s football tournament in Los Angeles. Victory over Comoros would set up a third-round meeting with either DR Congo or Morocco.

That gives the October double-header clear consequence.
Nigeria returned to the Olympic stage at Paris 2024 after a long absence, and the challenge now is to turn that comeback into sustained qualification rather than another isolated appearance.
Playing both legs in Ikenne gives the Falcons familiar territory, but it also concentrates the pressure.
There is no away leg to survive and no different environment to blame. Nigeria will have two matches at the same venue to impose themselves, manage the tie and make sure the road to Los Angeles does not become complicated at the first hurdle.
The Super Falcons carry the pedigree.
They also carry the expectation.
The road to LA 2028 starts in Ikenne and Nigeria’s first job is to make home territory count.
